Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has called a halt to the Russian operation in Georgia. Things are happening quickly now - as I write the share price is on the rise.

So if you want to get in, you need to act fast! I’ve just emailed my readers to tell them about this. Get on board now and I’ll make sure you get the same recommendation they did. Here’s how

My readers made a profit in Georgia last year. But you could be forgiven for thinking that, right now, it’s the last place I’d be looking for potential investments.

Well think again!

For the last few weeks, I’ve been running the rule over my favourite Georgian company. Since then, tensions between Russia and Georgia have boiled over. We have a full scale conflict on our hands.

But Georgia remains firmly on my radar. Indeed, I think the time may soon be right to get back into my favourite play.

Let me explain.

Investing in Georgia : A 40.4% profit. In only 10 months!

We first recommended the company in January 2007. We closed out of the position on 1 November for a 40.4% profit.

Not bad at all for a ten month holding. Especially when you remember that markets were tanking back then.

(Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results).

The company’s share price has fallen since. But its business has actually delivered a stellar performance. It increased its full year profits by 203% in 2007. And profits more than doubled in the first quarter of this year from the same period last year.

So on the 28th of July I told Profit Hunter subscribers that the company was back on our investment watch list.

Investing in Georgia : I saw the trouble in Georgia coming...

And we weren’t blind to the political risk either. Let me just quote what I said in that issue:

We cashed out [of this company] with a 40.4% profit in November. Its shares have fallen a lot further since then. In fact, it’s even cheaper today than it was when we first recommended it.

And there is nothing wrong with this company either. In the first three months of this year it more than doubled profits from the same period last year. And it almost doubled its asset base as well.

What’s been grating on it is the threat of political instability in Georgia. The little Caucasian country is locked in a political standoff with Russia. There are territorial disputes. And the Russian’s have backed a separatist movement in the north of the country.

But its economy has still been growing massively. It grew by 12.4% last year. And the IMF predicts 9% growth this year. With growth figures like that, [the company] operates in a very attractive market. This company definitely looks very interesting right now.

Well, we have seen the standoff with Russia break into open conflict now. And on Friday, this company’s shares fell by 23%.

And yet... from a purely fundamental point of view, this still looks a very attractive investment. In fact, I believe the conflict with Russia has provided us with an excellent buying opportunity.
